Kathy Mitton Joins SMVE HOA Board; Chairs Landscape Committee

Please join me in welcoming Kathy Mitton to the SMVE HOA Board. Kathy worked many years for IBM here in Tucson and fortunately retired to this subdivision. Kathy volunteered earlier this year to assist Guy Scharf with communications. She has proven her skills and dedication in assisting Board members and comes highly recommended by those who have worked with her. Accordingly, I have appointed Kathy as a Director to the regular seat on the Board vacated by Bob Vaughan.

Additionally, Kathy has volunteered to chair the Landscape Committee, from which Bob Vaughan has just resigned. This is one of the more demanding positions in our organization yet she stepped in just as the position became available and is willing to “learn on the job” (and she learns quickly!). Phil Mowbray has volunteered to rejoin the Landscape Committee and assist Kathy in any way she deems useful.

As Bob Vaughan’s term on the Board would have expired early in 2016, Kathy will appear on the ballot in February to run for a three-year term.
