SNAP (Sunrise Neighborhood Assistance Program) is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization formed in 2009 whose mission is to help neighbors who are experiencing temporary or chronic illness, mobility issues, infirmity or social isolation. SNAP helps disabled and senior adults live safely and comfortably in their home. SNAP volunteers offer free transportation services, caregiver relief, minor household maintenance, friendly visits and phone calls, social and educational programs plus health and well-being advice to “clients” (or residents) living in our service area bordered by Kolb/Sabino, Craycroft, River and Sunrise Roads. SNAP is funded entirely by individual tax deductible donations, corporate sponsorships, community partners and grants.

In 2016, SNAP is offering a series of educational programs on the subject of “Senior Living: Exploring MY Options.”  The programs are held at the Lutheran Church of the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft, from 2-3:30 pm.  Everyone interested is welcome and there is no charge.  Call SNAP to RSVP at 520-437-9556 or email . The remaining programs in the first half of 2016 are:

  • Monday, February 1, 2016 “Home Care Options and Geriatric Care Management”
  • Monday, March 7, 2016 “Moving: Is It Necessary and How Will I Know It’s Time?”
  • Monday, April 4, 2016 “Community Services and Senior Resources”
  • Monday, May 2, 2016 “Necessary Conversations”
