SNAP SENIOR LIVING EDUCATION SERIES
Geriatric Care Management: What Options Do I Have?
and In-Home Health Care: What Can I Expect?
February 1, 2016 from 2 to 3:30 pm
At the Lutheran Church of the Foothills
As we climb that “Mountain of Old Age,” many of us will need temporary or long-term services of a caregiver at home or someone to help coordinate and manage our care, if we cannot do that by ourselves. These people are not SNAP Volunteers; they are professionals for hire, and we think it will be helpful for you to know about the services and assistance they provide.
Some in-home health care may be covered under a long term care policy, but is not covered by Medicare unless skilled services are required. Come learn what caregivers can and cannot do, how much they cost, how they are specially trained to work with clients with dementia, levels of caregiver assistance, what is considered Medicare-covered services and how to hire and evaluate a caregiver.
Geriatric care managers are professionals who provide fiduciary services and assistance in finding resources and making decisions about your care, whether at home, or in a retirement, assisted living, skilled nursing or memory care facility. They are especially helpful to persons with no family or friends nearby, those with complex medical or behavioral histories and those who are concerned about faraway loved ones. Come and inquire about your options for geriatric care management.
Please RSVP to a SnapLine at 437-9556 or email by January 29th.
