SMVE Newsletter Goes Electronic!

For the 1st time, SMVE’s Electronic Newsletter was sent to you in the Fall of 2013. Good News: successful transmission to 85 percent of SMVE Homeowners. So, What are the benefits to you, the homeowner?

1. You’re getting the newsletter PROMPTLY and in COLOR.
   On your own computer, you can:
2. SEARCH the PDF using your own Adobe Reader App (Mac Command F/Windows Ctrl-F),
3. You can ARCHIVE the Newsletter for future reference,
4. You can ACCESS the Newsletter any time, any place, wherever you are, e.g. anyplace, anywhere, anytime information.

What are the benefits of electronic newsletters to the Volunteer Board Members?

1. Round trips to Office Depot, Kinko’s, and the Post Office are still necessary since 15 percent of our homeowners do not have e-mail and therefore receive written information by “snail mail”. Even so, the whole process is less burdensome just on the basis of “stuffing volume” and shoe leather.
2. We are environmentally friendly by saving of paper, and therefore trees.
3. We don’t have to fold, staple, and stuff as many envelopes (Yea!).
4. We don’t have to weigh items for mailing or buy as many envelopes and 1st class stamps.
5. And last but not least: Our Treasurer rejoices in the money we save on printing and mailing costs. We do like a happy treasurer, i.e. Our budget for non-electronic mailings decreased by 30-50 percent!
