We have more details from the county on the lane changes on Craycroft between River and Gregory School, which will last through August.  Please be aware of the traffic and speed signs.  The following is copied and pasted from the attached county Traffic Alert (click on “Continue reading” below to see the original county announcement).


Beginning Tuesday, April 21, 2015 the following traffic control will be in place along north and southbound Craycroft Road, between River Road and The Gregory traffic signal:

  • The northbound travel lanes, along Craycroft Road between River Road and The Gregory traffic signal, will be back in their normal travel configuration.
  • Northbound Craycroft Road travel lane widths will be as they were prior to the temporary traffic shift.
  • The northbound bike lane along Craycroft Road between River Road and The Gregory traffic signal will be re-opened to bicyclists. (pedestrian and northbound travel lanes all restored)
  • Two lanes of Craycroft Road southbound travel, between River Road and The Gregory traffic signal, will remain shifted to the east. One lane will occupy the median lane and another will occupy the high speed lane. No reduction in the standard lane widths.
  • Southbound Craycroft Road curb/right lane, between River Road and The Gregory traffic signal will remain closed to vehicular traffic, but will be available for pedestrian and bicyclist access through a barricaded area. This lane restriction will remain in place through August 2015.
  • The southbound/west-side Craycroft Road pedestrian walkway, between River Road and The Gregory traffic is closed and rerouted through the temporary barricaded area.
  • Turn movements at the intersection of River and Craycroft Roads will not be affected.
  • Access to The Gregory School and Castlehill Country Day School will be maintained at all times.
  • All turn movements at The Gregory traffic signal will be permitted.
  • This traffic control will remain in place 24-hours per day through the middle of August 2015.
