The Board meets on the third Monday of every month at 3:30 PM in the clubhouse. All homeowners are welcome to attend. Below are some highlights from the January Board meeting:
Board Personnel
- We are sad to announce that Guy Scharf has resigned as Board President. As many of you know, Guy was not running for re-election but due to personal reasons he needed to resign a month early. Please join us in thanking Guy for his service. He was instrumental in the database we now have, the website, the dropbox we use to document processes and much much more. He will be greatly missed.
Money
- Homeowner dues were mailed to residents’ permanent addresses in December and all but 5 homeowners have paid dues. Late notices will be going out shortly.
- One home is for sale in SMVE (which has 238 homes) and 1 home is contingent.
- Treasurer, Tammy Eversole, reported that we ended 2017 at 6.8% below budget. Likewise we exceeded our revenues and came in at 12% more than budgeted. We are ending 2017 with our reserve funded at 43%
Committee Updates
- Roads Committee – Steve Struck reported that the next section of roads (middle Velazquez) is tentatively slated for May. Stay tuned for details.
- Hospitality Committee – Laura Franklin noted what a great brunch event was held in January. Kudos to the hospitality committee for continuing to come up with excellent events.
- Maintenance Committee – Steve Struck reported that the south pool was painted and the problem chairs were re-strapped.
- Recreation Committee – Laura Franklin reported that the Pool Committee is working to see if the manufacture warranty can be leveraged to address the issue of paint peeling on the pool ladders.
Other News
- Jan Foval has offered to accept and store lighting parts for our original post and sconce lights. Homeowners who are trying to avoid replacing fixtures can check with Jan to see if there is a part in her inventory. Stay tuned for upcoming details on how this will be rolled out.
- The annual HOA meeting will be held February 19th at 7:00PM in the club house.
