Support your Board and Committees and Embrace Positive Change!

In recent years we have all watched the upgrading of the most used elements of the common area. Your Board and Committees have worked diligently to improve the aging infrastructure to “better than new.” Rebuilding our roads is the next step. Recently we have also seen increased construction, particularly in homes that had not been updated and are now under new ownership. These activities create short-term minor problems (some noise, etc.) but the long-term benefit is an increased average home value.
As a community, we’ve invested to maintain and improve our properties and with community support for the Board of Directors we’ve improved the neighborhood common areas. The community has always elected homeowners with a sincere interest and dedication to continuing to maintain and improve the community values.
We are continually seeking interested and qualified resident homeowners, who can work well with others, to serve on Committees and the Board. Several of the committees (Treasurer, Architecture, Landscape, and Maintenance) deal with on site problems throughout the year, hence it is best for those positions to be filled by full time residents. That doesn’t mean they must always be here (most of us take vacations, etc.) as committee members or other Board members can cover for a short while.
Interested parties should have a desire to learn and the dedication to do whatever it takes to deal with the responsibilities. You will learn a great deal about yourself as you continue to grow with the tasks. The most rewarding aspect of my time volunteering has been working with a great group of “like-minded” volunteers and meeting so many great neighbors.
The alternative, professional management of the HOA, should be the choice of last resort as it is quite expensive and never works nearly as well as those with a vested interest in the community.
I hope every homeowner will support those who selflessly perform these duties. Every board member and committee member serves at large, and every homeowner and resident benefits by their efforts. Working together, this community will ever continue to increase in value!
